INSIDE
Accommodation at Marjan Manor is laid out over three double-storey stone houses that form the complex.
House I:
The ground floor entrance opens into a modern and bright open-concept living, dining and kitchen area with natural stone walls and stone-tiled floors. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you need, and the solid wood dining table comfortably seats 10. Set back in the corner is the large L-shaped sofa and the flatscreen TV.
The upper floor of this first house is accessed via two external stone staircases, one from the front and one from the back, both of which provide separate access to two ensuite double bedrooms.
House II:
The second charming house is set a little way along the stone pathway from the first house. The ground floor entrance opens into a bright and colourful living room, which is equipped with a fold-out double sofa bed that can be used for groups larger than 10. A flight of steps on the left ascends to the first floor bedroom, a generously sized double with gorgeous countryside views and an en-suite shower room.
House III:
The third and final house is situated just a few metres across the stone-paved terrace from the first house. Its original wooden doors open into one of the manor’s hidden gems – the “konoba”, a voluminous wine cellar which serves as a convivial communal hub.
The upper floor of this second house is again accessed via an external stone staircase, which opens into the sleeping quarters, which comprise a living area with a sofa bed that can be folded out into a double bed, and two separate double bedrooms. There are two identical shower rooms leading off from this space, meaning that, although not “ensuite” in the true sense of the word, guests staying in the two bedrooms each have access to their own bathrooms.
OUTSIDE
Life at Marjan Manor is meant to be lived outside. Stone paths run all through the extensive gardens and grounds, which are planted with a wide variety of mature Mediterranean flora. There's plenty of al fresco space for everyone to come together and have fun, or find a quiet spot in which to read, snooze, or simply gaze at the views.
Set just behind House I, conveniently next to the large indoor kitchen, is the shady al fresco dining area, served by a traditional barbecue grill and a large dining table for 14 people.
A staircase leads up from the paved area next to House II towards the pool terrace, which wraps around the fabulous 24 square metre pool on three sides, with cushioned sunloungers offering plenty of comfort for all. The views from the pool itself are a joy to behold, whether you're floating on a lilo or simply cooling off.
A further flight of steps leads from the pool terrace to a secluded lounging terrace, where you can unwind together under a canopy of stars, undisturbed by any light pollution.
Set back from the pool terrace, the standalone sauna offers a warm retreat where you can unwind and rejuvenate.
Finally, if one could ask for any more, a basketball/volleyball/soccer court runs in front of House II. Secluded by a wall of local stone, this is a wonderfully fun spot for kids and adults alike.

The Area
Marjan Manor is a complex of three stone houses within a private estate of 2,000 square metres atop a hill in Pitve village, one of Hvar's oldest settlements and considered by many as the most picturesque.
Pitve, one of the oldest hamlets on Hvar Island, offers visitors a picturesque escape with its beautifully restored stone houses and lush, green surroundings. Located 168 metres above sea level, the village enjoys cooler mountain air even in the peak of summer. The hamlet is divided into Upper (Old) Pitve and Lower (New) Pitve, with narrow, labyrinthine streets and quaint inner courtyards that evoke a setting of a Mediterranean fairytale. With its tiny population of around 50 residents, Pitve's charm and tranquility make it a unique destination on the island. While Pitve has no amenities of its own aside from one restaurant, the village is just 2 kilometres from the town of Jelsa, accessible via a short and easy drive or taxi ride. Jelsa has two large new grocery stores and parking is blissfully cheap. Having a car is advisable for easy travel around the island, particularly if you're staying in Pitve.
Pitve is ideal for those seeking meaningful solitude and restorative quiet. Visitors can hike to the Church of St. James for panoramic views or take more challenging trails to the Chapel of St. Anthony and beyond to the seaside village of Zavala. The Viticulture Collection, a newly opened wine museum in Pitve, offers insights into Hvar’s winemaking history with exhibits of original vineyard tools and traditional cookware. Beach enthusiasts will find that Pitve’s location makes it easy to reach both the northern and southern coasts, offering a variety of idyllic coves and pebble beaches.Dining in Pitve is centered around the Konoba Dvor Duboković, a family-run restaurant located on a hilltop with sweeping views of vineyards and the Adriatic. This charming eatery, adorned with vibrant flowers and rustic decor, serves delicious homemade food in an enchanting setting. Reservations are recommended. For more dining options and a lively change of pace, the nearby town of Jelsa offers bars, art galleries, an open-air cinema, and numerous gelato bars, making it perfect for an evening out or a resupply.
