INSIDE
Accommodation at Villa Fisola is spread over two floors: a convivial communal living, dining, and kitchen area downstairs, and the upstairs that hosts the three ensuite bedrooms.
The open-plan living area is a generously proportioned, luminous, and stylishly presented space with lofty oak-beamed ceilings, natural stone floors and raw concrete walls. Bespoke pieces of handmade wooden furniture and cabinetry set the blueprint for the rest of the villa.
A pair of sliding glass doors drink in the far-reaching countryside views and allow for an organic flow between indoor and outdoor areas. To one side is a comfortably furnished sitting area with a contemporary sofa and armchair. To the other, the fully equipped kitchen, which features dark granite work surfaces and quality appliances. Set slightly in front of all this is a dining table with a picture window looking out across the pool and to the rolling hills beyond. Between the kitchen and the dining area there is a door accessing the side terrace, of which more later.
A flight of stairs ascends from the living area, close to the downstairs guest bathroom, to the first floor. Each of the three bedrooms features a centrally positioned king bed and its own luxuriously finished en-suite shower room. The master bedroom at the front of the house opens onto its own private balcony terrace, the perfect spot for a private morning coffee.
A second staircase ascends from the first floor up to the rooftop terrace, of which more below.
OUTSIDE
Al fresco pleasures abound at Villa Fisola, thanks to the terraces that wrap around the front and sides of the building, and the south-facing panoramic rooftop terrace. Wherever you are, wide-open views of the Dalmatian countryside pan out before you.
On ground level, the communal hub spills out on three sides to alluring spaces. The sliding glass doors of the living room open out onto a shaded area beneath a pergola with a lounging sofa and a couple of cushioned chairs. This area is set back just a few metres from the gorgeous infinity pool, which is flanked by comfortable sun loungers. Further up the terrace on this side of the house, a swinging love seat and more sun loungers atop a stone pavilion – the perfect spot to catch afternoon rays.
On the opposite side, meanwhile, (conveniently accessed from the kitchen) is the main al fresco dining area, a secluded, shady spot with a large table and barbecue.
At the very top of the house, accessed via a staircase on the first floor landing, is a large rooftop terrace. Partially covered with a pergola so as to provide some shade, and with another two sun loungers up here, it’s an ideal place for a mindful moment while gazing out to the Adriatic in the distance.

The Area
Villa Fisola is perched on a south-facing hill in a wonderfully panoramic position atop the charming village of Svirče in the heart of Hvar Island.
Svirče is a charming village nestled at the foot of Hvar’s highest point, offering a peaceful retreat into the rural Mediterranean lifestyle. The village is surrounded by expansive agricultural fields and vineyards, which highlight its deep connection to farming traditions. Rustic stone houses, with their winding paths and quaint bridges, enhance the village's timeless appeal. The atmosphere is serene, providing a quiet escape for visitors seeking a break from the summer heat, with ample shade and proximity to nearby towns. With a population of about 500 residents, Svirče is one of the most vibrant and thriving villages on Hvar Island. Unlike many other villages, Svirče’s population is on the rise, with young people often returning to settle after their education. This strong sense of community and local pride contributes to the village's dynamic atmosphere, where traditional Mediterranean ways of life are successfully integrated with modern living.
Agriculture plays a central role in Svirče's prosperity, with the village being renowned for its wine production and olive oil mill. The Božić family’s oil mill produces award-winning, organic, cold-pressed oils that are celebrated for their quality and sustainable practices. This dedication to agriculture has made Svirče one of the most prosperous communities on the island, and visitors can sample the fruits of this hard work at the mill itself.Beach enthusiasts can easily reach nearby coastal towns like Vrboska and Jelsa with a 5-minute drive, or venture to the southern side of the island to enjoy idyllic coves such as Ivan Dolac and Jagodna. Additionally, visitors can explore the nearby Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to appreciate the island's ancient agricultural landscape. For a change of pace, the nearby town of Jelsa offers a vibrant nightlife and various amenities. For a taste of local cuisine, the Svirče's only restaurant, Konoba Figura, offers a delightful authentic experience with a welcoming atmosphere on its leafy terrace.
