The Area

Villa Anouk is one of the first houses upon entering Pitve village, one of Hvar's oldest settlements and considered by many as the most picturesque.

Pitve, one of the oldest hamlets on Hvar Island, offers visitors a picturesque escape with its beautifully restored stone houses and lush, green surroundings. Located 168 metres above sea level, the village enjoys cooler mountain air even in the peak of summer. The hamlet is divided into Upper (Old) Pitve and Lower (New) Pitve, with narrow, labyrinthine streets and quaint inner courtyards that evoke a setting of a Mediterranean fairytale. With its tiny population of around 50 residents, Pitve's charm and tranquility make it a unique destination on the island. While Pitve has no amenities of its own aside from one restaurant, the village is just 2 kilometres from the town of Jelsa, accessible via a short and easy drive or taxi ride. Jelsa has two large new grocery stores and parking is blissfully cheap. Having a car is advisable for easy travel around the island, particularly if you're staying in Pitve.

Pitve is ideal for those seeking meaningful solitude and restorative quiet. Visitors can hike to the Church of St. James for panoramic views or take more challenging trails to the Chapel of St. Anthony and beyond to the seaside village of Zavala. The Viticulture Collection, a newly opened wine museum in Pitve, offers insights into Hvar’s winemaking history with exhibits of original vineyard tools and traditional cookware. Beach enthusiasts will find that Pitve’s location makes it easy to reach both the northern and southern coasts, offering a variety of idyllic coves and pebble beaches.Dining in Pitve is centered around the Konoba Dvor Duboković, a family-run restaurant located on a hilltop with sweeping views of vineyards and the Adriatic. This charming eatery, adorned with vibrant flowers and rustic decor, serves delicious homemade food in an enchanting setting. Reservations are recommended. For more dining options and a lively change of pace, the nearby town of Jelsa offers bars, art galleries, an open-air cinema, and numerous gelato bars, making it perfect for an evening out or a resupply.

Guest reviews for Villa Anouk

“Located just on the edge of the peaceful village of Pitve, the villa was easily accessible by taxi from both Jelsa and Hvar ports. The villa itself was absolutely beautifully furnished to a high standard throughout and the was more than enough space for the 9 of us who stayed there. It has everything you could possibly need and more to make your stay a comfortable one - the downstairs game room, gym, sauna and jacuzzi was real bonus. Would highly recommend this place!”

Heather E, UAE, July 2023

“This was the most beautiful villa for our group of 9 on my best friend’s hen do. The space was perfect for us for dinner, games, drinks etc. The pool was fab and the downstairs space with sauna, hot tub and football table we ended up using every night, it was so much fun! Views were stunning, location was peaceful and made super easy to get anywhere with the lovely taxi guy, he was fab and was available to drive us whenever we needed. I was worried we might be a bit far out from Hvar town but it really wasn’t an issue and the drive is beautiful anyway! Book this villa - you won’t regret it!!”

Erin P, UK, June 2023

“AMAZING! The villa was perfect. No complaints at all. Location was beautiful and the facilities were top notch! You couldn’t ask for a better villa.”

Island Experiences

No visit to Hvar is complete without dedicating some time to pure enjoyment on the Adriatic. Cruise in luxury aboard a private mini yacht, rent your own boat for leisurely exploration, or dive right in with snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, or scuba diving.

Indulging in Hvar’s vibrant culinary scene is not to be missed. From in-villa chefs to private cooking lessons, to olive oil tastings and hilltop farm-to-table dinners overlooking the sunset, our array of gastronomic experiences invites you to savour the taste of the island's cuisine.

Adrenaline enthusiasts need look no further. Few adventures are as thrilling as rock climbing up the south side’s limestone cliffs, cycling through rugged black pine forest up to Hvar’s highest point, or quad bike touring through the island’s labyrinth of hidden gravel roads.

Despite storied history dating back millennia, Hvar's wines remain a rarity outside of Croatia. Winemaking is an intrinsic part of life here, just as it is throughout the Mediterranean. Enjoy tasting experiences in the winemaker’s company, where passion and authenticity converge in every sip.

Our in-villa wellness specialists offer a host of holistic treatments including massage, reflexology, and sound therapy. Restore balance with private yoga sessions on your terrace, or keep fit whilst on holiday under the guidance of our personal trainer with bespoke fitness sessions.

Time goes by, but the essence of Hvar’s rich past still lingers. The in-depth knowledge of our expert guides brings life to the island’s historic old towns, quaint fishing villages, and UNESCO heritage sites, ensuring a truly immersive exploration of its past.
